The Amorian Conflicts

So I want to start up a fantasy roleplay, but I don't quite have the history of it down entirely yet. That's kind of why I'm making this interest check though. I'd like to attempt and roleplay it out in arcs, likely three or four depending on interests and dedication. So if you're wondering if all I'm going off of is a blank concept you're wrong. I have a map fully drawn out, and it is to be considered as the known world. I don't intend to expand it because the what lies past these countries is considered unreachable, inhospitable, or simply unknown because it hasn't been explored yet.
The Story Thus Far

For two centuries Amorah and Stroen have been at each others throats, quite literally. Sharing a North to South border the two have natural borders at the Illochen Ranges, but with the discovery of large gem deposits territorial expansion became the prime focus of both countries. This led to extended battles atop the steep mountains until eventually Amorah asked for aid from her Western allies. Obliging they sent great armies to strike at the Niestatu Desert, to the South of the Illochen Ranges. Though at first the battles were in favour of the duo Stroen soon counter attacked with armies larger than anyone had seen before. They seemed unending and forever growing.

Though no one knew how they could amass so many men it was widely known that it wasn't by any natural means. Determined to find the secrets of their enemies Ierum and Amorah sent small parties to secure evidence from within enemy borders and bring it back to end the war. That order was handed out sixteen years ago, and one of the groups has finally returned. Their words chill the strongest man to the bone, for Stroen has made magic accessible to those who could never use it before, and the secret lay in the Illochen Ranges.

Alright so this is where our characters come in. Stroen has gained an obvious advantage in the battle as they've found out how to spread magic, traditionally accessible to very few. As a result of the new information brought back by one of the bands Amorah has sent out a expedition parties, not all of them military, to explore the mines, some of them including a mage in the group. That will be ours. And yes there will be only one mage, but it won't be taken by me so it is up for play if anyone wants to. Though this is a medieval setting women are permitted to serve and are considered in all instances equal to men except that inheritances always flow through first born sons. You can expect swords, bows and spear to all make an appearance, and as the roleplay progresses expect your characters to become more skilled maybe even learn some magic. The world is going to be similar in creatures to ours, there will be sheep, cows and horses, but also some mythical exaggerated things will be making appearances as well.

I'm looking for players that can post in moderate amounts and will push the story forward. I don't expect perfection, though I do expect effort. I'm relatively kind in what I allow, but for the first arc only human races will be permitted, only one mage will be permitted, and anything outlandish, such as "I killed two dragons with my fists." Is going to have the character turned away.

PS. MAP(it's a huge file)
