Quinnipiac Promotes Frady to Associate Head Coach

HAMDEN, Conn. ? Quinnipiac Men's Lacrosse Eric Fekete and Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald have confirmed that assistant coach Bruce Frady has been promoted to Men's Lacrosse Associate Head Coach.

"Bruce has been an integral part of our program's success both on and off the field," said Coach Fekete. "His outstanding commitment over the last eight years has warranted his elevation to Associate Head Coach. I appreciate both Jack McDonald's and Mark Thompson's support on this initiative."

Bruce Frady is in his eighth season with the men's lacrosse program at Quinnipiac University. Frady has been instrumental in the success of the program, especially in the team's transition through conferences a few years back. Frady works with the Bobcats defensive unit and goalies while helping with the recruiting process as well.

Last season, Brady was responsible for a formidable Bobcats' defense that led them to a NEC Semifinals appearance. Under Frady's guidance, Chris Coppolecchia was named to the 2012 Northeast Conference First Team, after causing 43 turnovers, collecting 61 ground balls and claiming 16 face-offs in the circle. Furthermore, his average of 3.07 caused turnovers per game ranked him first in all of Division I men's lacrosse.

In2011, Frady helped produce the nation's fourth-best defense at causing turnovers at 1.79 caused turnovers per game. Due in large part to their defense, the Bobcats reached the championship game in their inaugural season with the Northeast Conference.

Among several players selected to the All-New England Team, defenseman Jake Glebocki was stellar under Frady's direction. In the 2011 campaign, he finished 19th nationally in ground balls and anchored a Bobcats defense that held the opposition to just 8.57 goals per game in 2010. In the 2008 season, Frady's work with defenseman Drew Maceranka resulted in an All-GWLL selection.

Frady joined the Quinnipiac staff after stints at Fairfield University and Eastern Connecticut State University. He spent the 2004-05 year with the Stags where he also worked with the goalies and defensive unit.

The year prior, Frady served as an assistant at ECSU. On the field, he worked primarily with the defense, while also completing various administrative duties off the field.

Frady played for three seasons at ECSU as a goaltender before turning to the coaching ranks. He has also served as the co-director of the All-Star development camp, assistant director of the Blue Chip Lacrosse camp and as a staff member at several other camps including: Nutmeg Lacrosse, Army Lacrosse, World Class Lacrosse, Princeton Lacrosse and the Players Choice camp.

Frady is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a BA in Communications.
